GRIT Etiquette

PUNCTUALITY
Say homie, don’t show up late with your latte. Please arrive to class at least 5 minutes early.  Do not enter the studio if you arrive after class has started.
 

GOOD VIBES
When we step into the studio, we put a smile on our face and swag in our step. No matter what happened during the day we come to class ready to work.  Our classmates rely on our positive energy!

OUR CLIQUE
We are a fun, fierce, fit family.  No snobs allowed.  Be kind and say hi to people you don’t know. While we commit to working hard, we also acknowledge that we are each at different points in our fitness journey. Get to know your classmates and hold each other accountable for achieving your fitness goals.

Please follow your fabulous instructor and refrain from doing your own thing. We move together and stay in sync because we believe that there is power in numbers.

SHOW YOUR GRIT
We believe that hard work can be enjoyable!  We push ourselves and broadcast our success.  We are a social media friendly studio so cell phones are allowed in class.  Feel free to take selfies and videos to show the world that fierce is fabulous, strong is sexy and energy is everything!

On Time Arrival & Cancellation Policy

  • To show mutual respect for all members of the #GRITFAM, we follow a strict punctuality policy.  Clients are expected to arrive at least 5 minutes early for all classes.
  • If you are running late, please call the front desk at 469-930-8404 (Design District) or 469-232-9154 (SMU BLVD) or 469-250-7321 (Addison) and make our staff aware.  
  • We will not allow you to enter the studio if you arrive 5 minutes after class has started and you have not called the front desk.​
  • In order to cancel a class without incurring a fee, you must do so online or via our mobile app at least 4 hours before the scheduled class time.
  • If you cancel less than 4 hours before the class start time or "No Show" for a class, you will be automatically charged a $15 fee.
  • The same cancellation policy applies to the waitlist, so you must remove yourself from the waitlist at least 4 hours in advance if you can no longer make it to avoid being charged a late cancellation fee.
  • If you No Show for a class (without canceling your reservation) more than three times, your account is subject to forfeiture and/or you could be temporarily banned from booking classes at GRIT Fitness​.

FAQ

WHEN CAN I SIGN UP FOR A CLASS?
Registration opens 14 days before the class date.
I PURCHASED THE INTRO WEEK/MONTH AND AM UNABLE TO BOOK SOME CLASSES. WHAT'S WRONG?
Introductory passes activate on the date of your first class. Therefore, you must book your classes in the order that you plan to take them. If you book a class and then decide that you would like to start on an earlier date, first remove yourself from the class(es) you initially booked so that your pass can start on the earlier date.
ARE YOUR CLASSES OPEN TO ALL FITNESS LEVELS?
Yes! All fitness levels can enjoy our classes. Flexin' Flow and Dance Club Cardio are great for those just starting their fitness journey.
I'M RUNNING LATE. CAN I STILL TAKE THE CLASS?
To show mutual respect for all members of the #GRITFAM, we follow a strict punctuality policy.  All clients are expected to arrive at least five minutes early for all classes.  At the class start time, spots are given away to clients on the waiting list who are physically present in the studio.  If you are running late, please call the front desk at 469-250-7321 (Addison), 972-913-4455 (Design District), or 469-232-9154 (SMU Blvd) and make our staff aware.  We will offer you a 5-minute grace period if you call the front desk and space is still available in the class. 
WHAT IS YOUR CANCELLATION POLICY?
If you cannot attend a class for which you have made a reservation, you must cancel via our iPhone/Android app, website or the MindBody system at least four hours before the class starts. You will be charged a $15 fee if you cancel less than four hours before the scheduled start time or if you fail to show up for class without canceling your reservation.
WHAT DO I BRING TO CLASS?
Please bring water and a hand towel. Sneakers are required for all classes except Flexin' Flow and powerbelle.
ARE CYCLING SHOES REQUIRED FOR REVOLUTION CYCLE CLASSES? IF SO, WHAT KIND?
Cycling shoes are not required, and we do not offer cycling shoes for rental or purchase. You are welcome to bring your own cycling shoes to clip in for your ride. Our bikes accommodate SPD clips only.
WHERE DO I PARK?
Addison - Please feel free to park in the designated parking lot in front of the studio. There are plenty of parking spots available.

Design District - Parking is available along the north side of our building on Riveredge Drive. There is also a designated parking lot on this street for GRIT Fitness clients. Before 8AM and after 6PM, feel free to park directly in front of the building on Irving Boulevard.
 
SMU Blvd - We share parking with Barley House, so you may park in any of the spaces directly surrounding the building. You are welcome to park in the United States Post Office parking lot next door. There is free, two-hour parking along SMU Boulevard and Worcola St. and the lot across the street at the veterinary clinic before 8AM and after 5:30PM.  Parking garage at Mockingbird Flats (on the East side of the studio by Torchy's) has free retail parking (over 40 spaces).
IS THERE SPACE TO CHANGE OR SHOWER?
We have restrooms, changing rooms, cubby holes, and women's showers at all locations for clients' use. 

Showers and changing rooms are available for use. Please bring your own towel (no towel service).

​Workout (small) towels are available for purchase at the front desk for $9. 
HOW DOES THE WAITLIST WORK?
​If a class is full, you may join the waitlist.  As spots open, you will automatically be added to the class. You will not receive a notification so please periodically check the mobile app to confirm your spot in class.

​If the class and the waitlist are both full, you will see the class labeled as “Class Full.”  The same cancellation policy applies to the waitlist, so you must remove yourself from the waitlist at least 4 hours in advance if you can no longer make it to avoid being charged a late cancellation fee. Standby clients are always welcome for any waitlisted class. Unclaimed spots will be given away 5 minutes prior to the start of class.
CAN I FREEZE MY MEMBERSHIP?
No, we do not freeze memberships.  By purchasing a 6 or 12 month membership you sign a contract to pay the price of the membership through completion.  If you have travel plans or plans to move, we encourage to purchase our class packages or a drop in passes.

If you become ill or have health issues that prevent you from working out for an extended period of time, you will still have to finish out your membership contract per the payment schedule in your membership agreement. However with a doctor's note, we can give you up to 2 months of free membership at the end of your current membership term (time period depends on how long you were unable to attend GRIT for). You are required to notify us via email before your temporary suspension period begins.
HOW DO I USE MY GUEST PASS?

Info Needed for Your Guest:
1) Guest's First and Last Name
2) Guest's Email Address
3) Class Name (including date, time, studio location, instructor's name)

Your guest will receive an email confirming their comped guest pass. If a class is waitlisted, this email does not confirm their spot in the class. Your guest is welcome to create a GRIT mobile app login using the email address used for their guest pass, to view their reservation. 

​Alternatively, you may get your guest signed up by one of our Front Desk team members at each of the studios during class hours.
How do i join the private gritfam facebook group?

HOW DO I CANCEL MY MEMBERSHIP?
For month-to-month (MTM) memberships, we require a 30-day written notice for membership cancellations via email to DallasGRITFitness@gmail.com.

For membership contracts (6 or 12 months), you are required to finish out your membership term and will be responsible for the full amount due (for membership contract term). If you have questions, please email DallasGRITFitness@gmail.com. 
HOW DO I MAKE A CHANGE TO MY MEMBERSHIP?
All membership changes require a 30 day written notice via email to DallasGritFitness@gmail.com. Once an autopay payment has been made, we are unable to make any changes to your membership (or cancel a membership) until the next billing period. We are unable to refund any past autopay membership payments for any reason. 

If you need to make a change to your membership, the change(s) will go into effect with your next autopay payment.
